Long Island, NY (August 1, 2024) – Major League Soccer (MLS) is thrilled to announce the expansion of its rapidly-growing and highly-popular youth soccer program, MLS GO, to Long Island.
Through a partnership between RCX Sports, the national operator of MLS GO, and Long Island-based Globall Competitions, a local leader in providing competitive opportunities in soccer, MLS GO will begin play this fall with two flagship locations: Suffolk County Community College at Grant Campus in Brentwood and Globall Sports Center at Mitchel Athletic Complex in Nassau County.
These flagship locations will initially host a 6-week pilot program with a discounted early bird special that ends August 16th, before announcing additional expansion opportunities with Long Island municipalities and schools.
Today’s announcement, along with the May launch of MLS NEXT on Long Island, signals a growing presence for Major League Soccer within the Long Island soccer community.
MLS GO is designed to be fun and affordable, aiming to enable more boys and girls ages 4-14 to engage in and have a positive experience with soccer. Whether participants are taking their first steps in the sport or aspire to reach professional levels, MLS GO offers an inclusive environment where all participants can learn fundamental skills and develop a lasting love for soccer.
Guided by Globall Competitions, the MLS GO curriculum caters to different age groups and skill levels, ensuring a comprehensive and enjoyable learning experience with a focus on gameplay and basic skill instruction by licensed, professional coaches.
